What a Featured Project Story actually is

On a proposal it is one line. In practice it is the single piece of content that does the most work for a home service contractor, because it is the only thing you publish that is both proof and a ranking asset at the same time.

1 per month · Never banked, never batched · Part of the LNC Organic Traffic Engine™

The short answer

Once a month we take one real job your crew finished and build it out properly. The before and after photos. The problem the homeowner actually had. What your crew did about it, what materials you used, and why you chose that approach. The neighborhood it happened in. The result.

That becomes a permanent page on your website, written to rank for that service in that specific area. It feeds a post on your Google Business Profile. It goes into your social mix. And it gives you something to send a hesitant homeowner that a gallery of photos can never do.

Twelve months in, you have twelve of them. Your competitor has a photo gallery.

Why this line gets underestimated

Most contractors read it as "a blog post about a job"

It is not that, and the difference is the whole point. A blog post is content. A Featured Project Story is evidence, indexed and organized so that both a search engine and a nervous homeowner can find it and believe it.

What a gallery page does

  • Shows a photo with no context
  • Ranks for nothing in particular
  • Reads the same as every competitor's gallery
  • Answers none of the questions holding a buyer back
  • Gets scrolled past in nine seconds

What a Featured Project Story does

  • Shows the problem, the decision, and the outcome
  • Targets one service in one real neighborhood
  • Is unique to your business and impossible to copy
  • Answers the objection before the homeowner asks it
  • Gets read, and gets sent to the next prospect

The anatomy

What is actually in one

Every story we build carries the same load-bearing parts. They are the parts that make it rank and the parts that make it persuade, and they are usually the same parts.

01

The situation

What the homeowner was dealing with before you showed up, described the way they would describe it. This is the part that makes the next homeowner recognize themselves.

02

The diagnosis

What you found when you got there, including what the last company missed. This is where your expertise becomes visible instead of claimed.

03

The work

What your crew actually did, in order. Materials, method, and the judgment calls. Specific enough that a competitor could not have written it about their own job.

04

Before and after

Real photos from the job, sequenced so the change is obvious, with captions that explain what you are looking at instead of leaving it to guesswork.

05

The location signal

The neighborhood, the city, and the conditions specific to it. This is what lets the page compete for the searches happening in that area instead of everywhere at once.

06

The result and the ask

How it turned out, what the homeowner said if they said anything, and a clear next step for the person reading it who has the same problem.

Behind the line item

How one gets made

This is the part nobody sees on a proposal. Seven steps, every month, run by our content and SEO team with our systems doing the heavy lifting underneath.

  1. We pick the job

Either you flag one you are proud of, or we pull one from the photos and job records already flowing through LNC360™. We are looking for a job with a real before, a clear problem, and a location worth ranking in. If nothing obvious is there, we ask.

    Our team, with your input
  2. We get the photos right

We tell you exactly which shots we need and how to take them, and your crew grabs them from a phone on site. Wide before, wide after from the same spot, two or three detail shots, and one of the crew working. We handle the cropping, the sequencing, the compression, and the alt text.

    Your crew's phone, our production
  3. We get the story out of your head

A short call, or a couple of voice notes from you or your foreman on the drive home. We are after the things that never make it into a photo. What was really wrong, what the homeowner was worried about, what you decided and why.

About fifteen minutes of your time
  4. We research what people are actually searching

Before a word gets written we check what homeowners in that area type when they have that problem. The story gets built around the way real people ask, not the way the industry writes about itself.

    LNC SEO™
  5. We write it, and a human edits it

Our systems do the first pass so nothing gets lost from the interview. Our content team then rewrites it to sound like your company and checks every technical claim. Human and AI together, which is the only way this stays both fast and accurate.

Human + AI, in that order of authority
  6. We build it as a real page

Not a blog entry buried in an archive. A structured page on your site with proper headings, structured data so search engines read it as a genuine project, internal links to the matching service page and city page, and a clear path to contacting you.

    LNC Website Engine™
  7. We publish it and put it to work

It gets submitted for indexing, posted to your Google Business Profile, worked into your social mix, and added to the set of proof we can send a prospect who is still deciding. One job, used five ways.

Done for you, start to finish

Why it ranks when a service page cannot

Your main service page is competing with every other company in your market for the same handful of words. It should be. That is its job, and it is a long fight.

A Featured Project Story is not in that fight. It goes after the searches nobody else has a page for, because nobody else did that job on that street with that problem. Those searches have less traffic each, which is exactly why they are winnable, and the person typing them is usually much closer to picking up the phone.

Then there is the second effect, and it is the bigger one. Every story you publish adds another page of genuine, specific, first-hand work to your site. Search engines read that as a business that actually does the thing it claims to do, in the places it claims to do it. That lifts the pages you care most about, including the ones you have been trying to rank for years.

The honest version

One story will not move your rankings. Twelve will change what your website is. This is a compounding asset, not a campaign, and we would rather tell you that up front than have you judge it in month two.

The cap, and why it is there

One a month. Never banked, never batched.

You cannot save them up and you cannot order six at once. That is deliberate, and it is worth explaining because it looks like a limit.

Batching is what makes it worthless

Six stories written in one sitting from six sets of photos, with no fresh interview and no new detail, produce exactly the thing we are trying to replace. A gallery page with more words. The value is in the production time each one gets.

Steady beats bursty

A site that publishes real work every month reads as an active business. A site that published nine things in March and nothing since reads as an abandoned one. The cadence itself is part of the signal.

If a month goes by without a job worth featuring, we will tell you rather than manufacture one. And if you want more than one a month, that is a real conversation about expanding your content plan, not something we quietly borrow from next month to cover.

Your side of it

What we need from you

This is the whole list. If your crew is already taking job photos, you are most of the way there.

~15 minOne short call or a few voice notes, once a month
6–10Photos from the job, taken on a phone
1Neighborhood or cross streets, so we can target it
0Writing, editing, formatting, or publishing on your end

If you are already running LNC Field Ops™

The photos and job details are usually already in the system by the time we go looking, because your crew captured them on site as part of the job. In that case the only thing we need from you is the fifteen minutes, and sometimes not even that.

Where it sits in your plan

Included in every Growth OS™ tier

The Featured Project Story is part of the LNC Organic Traffic Engine™, and it does not change between tiers. What changes around it is the volume of everything else.

Organic Traffic Engine™ Local Authority Local Domination Market Domination
Featured Project Story / mo 1 1 1
SEO blog posts / mo 4 8 8
City or service pages / mo up to 2 up to 2, expanded up to 2, deepest expansion
Press release / mo 1 1 1

Every tier gets one. It is the one deliverable we did not scale by price, because a contractor doing one great job a month deserves the same proof as one doing forty.
